AI

After being released from Christiana we went home and our family and friends came over. It was so nice to be home. Then Sunday we went for a bilirubin check and before we even got home the pediatrician called and sent us to AI Dupont. At AI we had to be admitted through the ER and needless to say we had a long wait to the right is yellow Graydon in his ER gown. Grammi and Grandfather came and brought us things we would need to stay the night. The worst was watching the nurses try and try to get the IV in while he screamed and cried. Once admitted we went to a large room with a huge window looking out the front of the hospital. We shared the room with twins that were younger and more fragile that he was and who had no visitors not even their parents. They must still have been in a hospital some where. AI treated us wonderfully and I can't even tell you how much we appreciated their hospitality. They let both of us stay, gave us sheets, toiletries, meals for me and access to a lounge where there were computers, free coffee and tea and vending machines. He was under lights for a few days, we could only take him out for twenty minutes every three hours. We used that time to try and nurse then supplement with pumped milk in a bottle and diaper changes. Luckily the warm lights were a comfort and he slept very relaxed. His level slowly came down. And cinco de Mayo our team of doctors came in and the residents presented to the attending their opinions, we watched the teaching process like in Grey's Anatomy! And we were dissmissed to go home!
